Baby Update

I went to the doctor last Friday for my monthly appointment and it didn't go as I had hoped. The doctor said everything looked fine on the ultrasound, except that the baby has dilated kidneys. I've never heard of it before and I wasn't sure exactly what it meant so I asked the doctor and he said pretty much there could be an obstruction causing the baby to have problems going to the bathroom. However, he said that it usually clears itself up. I guess the bright side of all of this is I get to have another ultrasound in March to see how the kidneys are doing. I definitely won't turn down a chance to take a peek at my baby!

Other than that everything seems to be going well. The baby is kicking all the time which is really reassuring. She is also starting to keep me up in the early morning hours. I've had to go to the bathroom the last few nights around 3 or 3:30 a.m. and then I find it really difficult to get back to sleep. My mind starts racing about everything I have to do and I just can't close my eyes. I think that is why I have been falling asleep on the couch around 9 p.m. all this week. David has been so sweet to take care of putting LD to bed. It's really nice to have David at home, even though he is on furlough and it means it won't get paid as much this paycheck.

Oh! And I didn't forget about posting some pictures from Christmas and Disneyland, I just haven't gotten to it. When we are on the computer at home lately LD wants us to get off and he will turn off the monitor. It's kinda cute, but then again it makes it hard to get anything done.

So glad things are going well with your pregnancy. It was fun to get together today for lunch! We have to do it more often. (Don't we always say that?!)

That kidney thing must have to do with the diet coke you've been drinking! LOL :)

I'm with you on the whole sleep thing. Even though I'm not pregnant, I still have to go in the middle of the night then I can't get back to sleep.

Kim ... I agree -- we do have to get together more often! Can we just add more hours to the day?

The sad thing is Laura it wasn't even Diet Coke I was drinking! It was full on regular Coke!

Even though it isn't related I haven't had a Coke since the doctor told me. It's been a little over a week now.
