I definitely can't complain about her eating and sleeping. Emma is an excellent nurser and she sleeps through the night most nights. I'm talking about her going to bed around 10 and then getting up at 5:30 or 6 to eat and then she goes back to sleep until almost nine. It's perfect! It doesn't happen every night, but I would say it has happened the last five nights out of six. I think that is why I am fairly sane during the day.
I love to see the relationship developing between LD and Emma. He loves her so much. He protects her and takes care of her when she is upset. Mind you he does this by rubbing her arm or head and saying "comfort, comfort, comfort." He also likes to play with her. The other day he tried to put one of his toy soldiers in her hand.
I am also loving seeing the relationship between David and Emma. He is a great daddy who gets up and changes her every time she needs it. He constantly says how beautiful she is and he will hold her so I can get things done (like cooking!).
It was pretty funny yesterday when I left David at home with LD and Emma so I could go see Eclipse and do a little shopping. It wasn't the first time they've been alone together, but it was definitely the longest time. I called after my movie to check to see how things were going. I could hear Emma crying in the background and LD mumbling something. All David could really say was "this isn't a good time! I'm trying to get LD to take a nap and Emma needs to be changed -- I have to go." Welcome to my world! I have the kids every night alone while he is at work. At least it was preparing him a little for when I start my master's class on Monday :)
For good measure I threw in the photo of David putting his best face forward. Hey! You mug for the camera you never know where the photos might end up.
